Novak Djokovic etched his name in the history books as he continued his flawless run in the 2025 US Open by defeating Jan-Lennard Struff in the Round of 16 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Sunday (August 31) in the Round of 16. The 38-year-old, who is aiming to win an unprecedented 25th major title, has reached the quarter-final and will now face fourth seed Taylor Fritz.

The blockbuster clash between the local boy and the four-time champion will take place on Tuesday (September 2).

Novak Djokovic Creates History

While Djokovic has not won any Grand Slam titles since lifting the 2023 US Open, he has reached the quarter-finals of all four majors this year. The 24-time Grand Slam champion was beaten by Fritz in the last eight of the Australian Open before losing to Jannik Sinner in the semi-final at the French Open and Wimbledon.

The Serbian has broken his own record and become the oldest player to reach the quarter-final of all four slams in a season. No other player has achieved the feat after turning 34, while Djokovic has done it thrice
