Nottingham Forest missed the opportunity to regain fifth place in the Premier League after a late equaliser from Facundo Buonanotte secured a 2-2 draw for Leicester City at the City Ground.

Conor Coady gave Leicester an early lead with his first Premier League goal in over two years, heading home in the 16th minute. Nottingham Forest responded quickly as Morgan Gibbs-White equalised nine minutes later, nodding in from Anthony Elanga’s free-kick. Chris Wood then put Forest ahead again with his 20th league goal of the season, heading in a cross from Gibbs-White.
Buonanotte’s impressive solo effort in the 81st minute ensured a point for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team. They were close to a late winner, but Matz Sels denied Jeremy Monga’s attempt. Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad remains seventh, unable to surpass Aston Villa and Chelsea, who lost to Newcastle United earlier that day.
Chris Wood reached a significant milestone by becoming only the second Nottingham Forest player to score 20 goals in a single Premier League season, following Stan Collymore’s achievement in 1994-95. This goal also marked his 100th involvement in Premier League goals, comprising 89 goals and 11 assists.

Leicester City’s Position
Leicester City remains in 19th place but is now level on points with Ipswich Town. Coady’s goal was his first since scoring for Everton against Southampton over two years ago. Despite their efforts, Leicester couldn’t secure a win but managed to avoid defeat against Forest.
Forest failed to win a Premier League match after leading for the first time since their loss to Newcastle United earlier this year. Elanga contributed significantly with his tenth assist of the season, just one short of Bryan Roy’s record for Forest set during the 1994-95 campaign.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has struggled recently, winning only once in their last six matches. Despite this draw against Leicester City, they remain hopeful of improving their form as they aim for better results in upcoming fixtures.
