New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has scored a lot of runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has shattered several records in the IPL and is the highest run-getter of the league, scoring 8758 runs in 269 matches. He has won many matches in the IPL single-handedly while chasing and is also known as ‘Chasemaster’.
Kohli holds the record of scoring the most runs in a single IPL season, smashing 973 runs in the 2016 edition. He has been in excellent form in the recent editions of the league, smashing 600+ runs in every season since 2023. He made a valuable contribution in RCB’s maiden title-winning campaign last year, scoring 657 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.75.
Rahul, Miller lead IPL chase batting list with highest average
The star RCB batter leads the list of most runs scored in the IPL during run-chases with 4027 runs from 125 innings. But in terms of the best batting average while chasing, Kohli is placed in the 10th position with an average of 41.51.
Delhi Capitals (DC) batters David Miller and KL Rahul lead the list among batters with the highest average while chasing in the IPL. Miller has amassed 1,816 runs in 67 innings at a brilliant average of 49.08 with a strike rate of 142.54, including 12 half-centuries and a hundred.
Rahul has scored 2,636 runs in 66 innings at an average of 47.92 with a strike rate of 138.22, smashing 25 fifties. They are the backbones of DC’s batting in the ongoing IPL 2026. Miller has been in the spotlight after refusing to take a single in the penultimate ball of DC’s 211-run chase against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 8.
The Delhi-based franchise lost the match by just 1 run, registering its first defeat of the season in three matches. They will next take on Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, April 11.
