New Delhi: The exciting five-match Test series between India and England ended in a 2-2 draw. Under the captaincy of ShubmanGill, the Indian team registered a historic win in the fifth and final Test played at The Oval.
In this match, fast bowler MohammedSiraj bowled brilliantly, taking a total of nine wickets, and played a crucial role in securing India’s win by just six runs.
Team India troubled by injuries
During the series, the Indian team had to cope with injuries to several players. In the fourth Test, vice-captain RishabhPant suffered a thumb injury while batting, which ruled him out of the fifth Test. In addition, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, and Akash Deep were also sidelined due to injuries.
Karun Nair’s unseen injury
Another injury story emerged from the series, which had not been in the news earlier. This involved middle-order batsman KarunNair. According to reports, he suffered a minor fracture in his finger while facing a fast and bouncy delivery in the second innings of the fifth Test. Despite the injury, Nair contributed to the match, but he will now be away from the field for the next few weeks.

This injury is particularly disappointing for KarunNair, who made a comeback to Team India after eight years, as it will keep him out of the DuleepTrophy2025 for CentralZone. The prestigious tournament is set to begin with a match between North Zone and East Zone from August 28.

Karun Nair had delivered an impressive performance for Vidarbha in the 2024 25 domestic season, scoring 863 runs at an average of 53. He also helped put his team in a strong position by scoring a century against Kerala in the final. Recently, he returned to the Karnataka team after three years, having received an NOC from the Vidarbha Cricket Association. Fans were eagerly awaiting his return, but due to this injury, he will now have to take another break.
