In this busy life, every work is being done quickly because there is no time to do anything for oneself. Lifestyle has become so complex that we don’t even get time to eat food comfortably.
Along with eating, one does not even get time to take a proper bath.
It is generally believed that bathing is just a routine, the purpose of which is limited only to the external cleanliness of the body, but it is not so. In Ayurveda, bathing is considered as ‘sanskar’ and ‘medicine’, which purifies the mind as well as the body. Bathing ritual is not only beneficial in keeping the dirt away from the body but also in filling the mind with energy.
Apart from this, taking bath strengthens the digestive power, removes laziness, keeps the mind happy, reduces negative energy, improves blood circulation and also makes one feel less tired. Taking bath daily improves metabolism and balances the ‘Agni’ of the body. Its connection is also with body temperature. It is very important for the body to remain at its regular temperature and bathing controls the body temperature. Ayurveda says that when water falls on the body, blood circulation in the entire body increases and digestive fire also works faster. Taking bath also reduces stress and ‘cortisol’ levels. Research has also found that bathing increases the level of ‘endorphin’ in the body. These hormones work to make the mind happy and reduce stress. Apart from this, bathing is also helpful in inducing good sleep. If there is trouble in sleeping, taking a bath with lukewarm water provides relief and calms the nervous system.
If it is not possible to take a bath, then you can keep the feet immersed in lukewarm water for some time. Now the question is what is the right way to take bath. There are three rules for bathing in Ayurveda. Do the first abhyanga. Massage the entire body with any oil 15 minutes before bathing, like a newborn baby. Second, use Ubtan after Abhyanga. Ubtan is many times more effective and efficient than chemical soap. It helps in creating new cells by removing dead skin cells. Third, chanting mantras. Chanting mantras while bathing is beneficial for both mind and brain. It flows positive energy.
