During the examination, when the patient’s CT scan was done, the doctors came to know that stones were accumulated from nose to throat. This situation was extremely unusual and required immediate operation.
Operation done without general anesthesia
Since the patient was a heart patient, it was not possible to give him general anesthesia. In such a situation, specialist ENT doctor Dr. Jayawardhan decided to perform the operation through local anesthesia. During the operation, stones of 2.8 mm, 5.8 mm and 9 mm were successfully removed.
First case of doctor’s career
According to Dr. Jayawardhan, this was the first case in his career in which such a large amount of stones were found deposited in the nose. After the operation, the patient is completely fine and is getting relief in breathing.
According to doctors, people who work in dusty environment for a long time, microscopic particles get accumulated in their nose. Over time these particles can harden and take the form of stones.
