Nora Fatehi Hit With INR 3 Crore Defamation Suit by Aviation Firm Over ‘Toy Plane’ Remarks

Bollywood actor and dancer Nora Fatehi has landed in a major legal entanglement, as aviation company Dunes Aviation has filed a civil defamation suit seeking INR 3 crore in damages. The lawsuit, filed in a Gandhinagar court, stems from comments Fatehi allegedly made on social media describing the company’s chartered aircraft.

The legal action comes after Fatehi reportedly posted videos on her Instagram handle in December 2025, during a flight from Mumbai to Jaipur aboard a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft. In these posts, she allegedly referred to the aircraft as a “miniature,” a “toy,” and a “Lego airplane.”

Nora Fatehi Sued for INR 3 Crore

Dunes Aviation asserts that Nora Fatehi’s remarks were “reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis.” The company highlights Fatehi’s substantial social media presence, with over 4.6 crore (46 million) Instagram followers, arguing that her comments had a wide-reaching adverse impact.

The aviation firm claims to have experienced a significant commercial hit, citing a 15-20% decline in bookings and an increase in cancellations directly attributable to the actor’s statements. Dunes Aviation maintains that the Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft was appropriately sized for the Mumbai-Jaipur journey, fully DGCA-certified, airworthy, and operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP).

Beyond the INR 3 crore in damages, the suit also demands that the court direct the immediate removal of all social media content containing the disputed remarks or references to the aircraft. Furthermore, Dunes Aviation is seeking a public clarification from Nora Fatehi regarding the incident.

Next Hearing Scheduled

The civil defamation suit, which was initially filed by Dunes Aviation in April 2026, is now scheduled for its next hearing on September 25, 2026. The matter will be heard by Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal at the Gandhinagar court. As of now, Nora Fatehi has not yet issued a public statement on the matter.
