PM Modi Jewar Airport Speech: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has added a new chapter in the development of UP by inaugurating Noida International Airport on Saturday. Jewar Airport will not only become the largest logistics gateway of North India, but with the MRO facility being built here, India will also be self-reliant in repairing aircraft.

Noida International Airport: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of Noida International Airport. On this special occasion, the PM not only inaugurated the cargo terminal of the airport, but also laid the foundation stone of the hi-tech MRO (aircraft repair and maintenance) facility to be built on 40 acres. Addressing the function, the Prime Minister said that this airport is not just a building or a project, but it is a new chapter in the campaign of ‘Developed India-Developed Uttar Pradesh’. This airport will become the biggest route (logistics gateway) for trade, investment and export for North India.

This airport will change the fate of western Uttar Pradesh

PM Modi stressed that Jewar Airport will give a new impetus to the development of entire Western UP including Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr. This will open new avenues of progress for farmers, small industries and youth. He thanked the local farmers and said that this dream has come true only because of their contribution of land. Now the products of the farmers here will be able to reach foreign markets directly.

Excellent connectivity and power of cargo hub

The Prime Minister said that Jewar Airport is a great example of multi-modal connectivity, where road, rail and air travel will be interconnected. The airport’s cargo hub will initially have a capacity to handle 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of cargo per year, which will later be expanded to 18 lakh metric tonnes. With this, the products of UP will get a new identity in the whole world.

Now you will not have to go abroad to repair planes

The PM said a big thing that till now 85% of India’s aircraft were sent abroad for repair (MRO), which used to cost a lot. Now the MRO facility to be built in Jewar will make the country self-reliant in this matter and will provide jobs to thousands of youth.

UP becomes the country’s ‘aviation hub’

The Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh now has the highest number of airports and it is fast becoming the aviation hub of the country. Taking aim at the previous governments, he said that this project was approved in 2003, but it remained buried in the files for years. Only when the ‘double engine’ government came to power at the Center and the State, this work could get off the ground.

One flight will take off every 2 minutes

PM Modi proudly said that the identity of the same state which made him MP has been linked to this grand airport. Jewar Airport will connect entire North India with the world. It will be so modern that it will have the ability to fly an aircraft every two minutes.

‘Unique’ inauguration done with mobile light

During the address, PM Modi took a very different initiative. He asked the thousands of people present there to light the flashlights of their mobiles. He said that this airport is the trust of the people and their future, hence its inauguration should also be in their hands. Within no time the entire complex echoed with lights and slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
