What are the ingredients required?

You will not need too many ingredients to make this pickle. Take 5 kg raw mango with 200 grams salt or as per requirement, 10 grams pure asafoetida, 1 teaspoon turmeric and 100 grams Kashmiri red chili powder.

How to make pickles

  • First of all, wash the raw mangoes thoroughly and dry them with a cloth.
  • The second step is to peel all the mangoes, cut them lengthwise and then mix salt well in it.
  • Cover these raw mangoes marinated with salt and keep them for 24 hours so that the water drains out.Aam Ka Achar
  • After 24 hours are over, dry the mango pieces in the sun for 2 to 3 hours.
  • The water that comes out of mango should not be thrown away, rather put it in a clean glass jar.
  • Take out 1 cup of this mango water and add asafoetida in it and mix till it dissolves well.
  • Put the sun-dried mango pieces in a big vessel and add turmeric, Kashmiri red chilli powder and asafoetida water and mix.
  • Now take a clean glass jar and put these mangoes in it and add the remaining mango water on top.
  • Close the lid of the jar tightly and keep it in a cool place. It will slowly cook and be ready.
