How to make coconut oil

  • You do not need many things to make coconut oil. All you need is 4 water coconuts and some water.
  • First of all, break the coconut and keep its water aside and then remove the coconut cover and cut it into small pieces with a knife.
  • Removing the hard cover of coconut is a task, so the simple way is to heat the whole coconut on the gas for some time.
  • When you heat the coconut, the cover and the inner part loosen a little, due to which it can be easily removed.
  • Put the cut coconut in the grinder and add little water to it and grind it well. Add just enough water in it so that it grinds properly and forms a thick paste.
  • Now separate the milk from the coconut paste with the help of a strainer. If you want, you can use cotton cloth instead of strainer.
  • The bowl or container in which you have kept coconut milk. Cover it and keep it for some time so that the water gets separated from the milk.
  • Now pick up the container and freeze it for at least 4-5 hours. Due to this the water will settle down and a layer of milk will settle on top.
  • After taking out the container from the fridge, take out the layer of milk in a pan with the help of a ladle and now it is the turn of the finishing step.
  • Make coconut oil in the same way as desi ghee is extracted. Turn on the gas, keep the pan and cook it on low flame until oil comes out.
  • After the oil is prepared, filter it and store it in an air tight glass jar. You can use it for food as well as for hair and skin.
