New Delhi: After finishing the office work and going home or after the working hours are over in work from home, it will be considered a crime to call or email the company related to work in your personal time. To stop this, the Central Government has introduced ‘Right to Disconnect Bill’ in the Lok Sabha. According to this bill, the office will have to respect the privacy and personal time of the employees. Asking employees to work in their personal time, no work related conversations, phone calls or emails will be allowed.

Right to Disconnect Bill 2025

Right to Disconnect Bill 2025 has been introduced. This bill has been introduced by NCP MP Supriya Sule. Presenting the bill, Supriya Sule said that this bill is very important for the welfare of private and other employees and to respect their personal time. Recently, many such cases have come to light, where people were fired from the job or targeted in some other way for not responding to calls, emails or work done after office hours. Therefore, the House should take the ‘Right to Disconnect Bill’ seriously and pass it and the Labor Ministry should make it a law.

Supriya Sule is not a part of the central government, she is just an NCP MP. Members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can introduce bills. There is an opportunity to draw the attention of the government by introducing bills on serious issues or any subject. But in most of the cases such bills are not approved. There are many obstacles in making these bills law. Not only this, the ruling government does not take private bills seriously.

Disconnect completely after office hours

This bill gives an opportunity to work during office hours and after that to be completely disconnected from the office. This means that on holidays or after working hours the office or manager cannot make any calls, instructions or send emails regarding work. The bill says that an employee’s personal time cannot be interfered with. If such an email or call comes, the employee need not respond. If the office takes any action for this reason, then you will also get a chance to file a complaint against the office, boss, manager or the person concerned.

Many companies employ their employees to work on holidays, work after hours, and even after going home from office. Employees have to work under compulsion. Supriya Sule has introduced this bill to respect the employee’s comfort and personal time.
