Now the insurance of these employees will be on their salary account without any premium. Under this, in the event of an accident, he and his family will get insurance benefits ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.60 crore.
In this scheme, in the event of death in the accident, the insurance amount will be given to the families of the deceased employee. At the same time, there is a provision of financial assistance in the event of permanent disability. The benefit of this scheme will also be given to the MPs, MLAs and Legislative Councilors of the state.
The insurance amount will be permanent and different for contract workers. The Finance Department has tied up with nine banks including State Bank, Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, Union Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and UCO Bank.
The agreement was signed by Anand Kishore, Principal Secretary, Finance Department in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Emperor Chaudhary said that this agreement is not just insurance but part of the government’s salary package. Its purpose is to give respect to the employees and their families. He described it as a transparent, organized and technology -based system.
This facility will be available not only to government employees but also to state MPs, MLAs and Legislative Councilors.
Death in air accident: ₹ 1 crore to ₹ 1.60 crore
Death in road accident: ₹ 40 lakh to ₹ 1 crore
On permanent disability: ₹ 80 lakh to ₹ 1 crore
Mass insurance cover: ₹ 10 lakh
Four members of the family: cover up to ₹ 5-5 lakh
Health top-up insurance also available at discounted rates
Employees will not need to do anything separately to avail these facilities. As soon as his salary account is opened in banks, he will automatically become eligible for this insurance.
