For the upcoming Bihar elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has appealed to give the NDA another chance. He cited the economic and infrastructural development achieved during his rule as compared to the poor condition before 2005 and pledged to make Bihar developed.
Ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made an emotional appeal to the voters for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Releasing a video message, the Chief Minister urged Biharians to give ‘one more chance’ to the NDA and claimed that since 2005 they have served the state with utmost sincerity, as a result of which Bihar has recorded unprecedented development. The Chief Minister, in his message to Bihar, made a clear comparison between the past and present situation of the state. He said that before 2005 the situation in Bihar was “extremely pathetic”.
journey from misery to prosperity
In his message, Nitish Kumar recalled the old days, describing pre-2005 Bihar as “shrouded in darkness”. He said that at that time the roads were in dilapidated condition, the education and health systems had completely collapsed, industries were at a standstill, the youth had no employment and crime and corruption were at their peak.
He said, “You gave an opportunity to NDA and we wrote a new story of development keeping in mind every class and section of the society.” The Chief Minister expressed pride that his government has taken Bihar on “this journey from poverty to prosperity”. He claimed that Bihar, once known for crime and anarchy, has today become synonymous with strong infrastructure, education, health and better governance.

Report Card of Economic and Social Development
The Chief Minister gave a detailed account of the economic progress achieved during his rule. He said that in 2005, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Bihar was only ₹ 79,000 crore, which has increased to ₹ 11 lakh crore today. This figure reflects the rapid economic growth that has taken place under the NDA government.
Along with economic development, he emphasized the achievements made in the field of women empowerment. The Chief Minister claimed that Bihar has set an example for the entire country in women empowerment. Schemes like Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana and Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana have made youth and women economically self-reliant.
Boom in infrastructure and tourism
On the infrastructure front, Kumar said that today paved roads and electricity have reached every village. While establishing the rule of good governance, the traditional art, culture and historical heritage of the state has been preserved and propagated. As a result, the number of domestic tourists visiting Bihar has reached more than 6 crores and the number of foreign tourists has reached more than 7 lakhs, which shows the positive impact of the change of governance in the state.
resolution for the next five years
At the end of his message, the Chief Minister reiterated his resolve for the next five years. He said, “Our resolve is to make Bihar a developed state and establish a golden era of industrial revolution in the next five years.”
Nitish Kumar assured the people of Bihar that in the coming times, the life of every citizen will be made easier, the path of industrial progress will be paved and the youth will be empowered through education and employment. To fulfill this resolution, he has appealed to the voters to provide another opportunity to NDA.
