A video of an event organized in Patna on Monday, December 15, is going viral, in which Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was seen removing the hijab of a female doctor while giving her an appointment letter. The incident took place at an event held at the Chief Minister’s residence, where appointment letters were being distributed to newly recruited AYUSH doctors. RJD-Congress have expressed objection to this action of Nitish Kumar and demanded his resignation.

What is the whole matter?

While distributing appointments to newly recruited AYUSH doctors, Nusrat Parveen came forward to collect her letter. After giving the letter, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar pointed towards the scarf tied on the woman’s head, asked about it and later removed it himself. During this, the female doctor looked worried for some time, because the people present in the program started laughing.

What has happened to Nitish ji?

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Dal shared the video of the incident on social media and said, “What has happened to Nitish ji? Has his mental condition completely deteriorated, or has Nitish Babu now become a 100% Sanghi?” At the same time, the Congress party attacked the Chief Minister of Bihar, calling it a “disgusting act” and even demanded his resignation. The Congress party said, “Look at this shameless act. When a female doctor came to collect her appointment letter, Nitish Kumar pulled her hijab. If a person holding the highest position in the state behaves like this in public, then one can imagine how safe women are. This kind of misconduct is unforgivable.”

Appointments distributed to 1283 AYUSH doctors

Let us tell you that in this program held in Patna, appointment letters were distributed to 1283 AYUSH doctors, which included 685 Ayurvedic, 393 Homeopathic and 205 Unani doctors. According to officials, the newly appointed doctors will be deployed in different health institutions under AYUSH Medical Services and National Health Mission. They will be deployed for OPD services and as part of the ‘Roaming Medical Team’ under the National Child Health Programme, which aims to improve school health check-ups and strengthen healthcare delivery across the state.
