Bihar Free Bus Travel for Women: Women are going to get a big gift on Rakshabandhan. On August 9, all women will be able to travel free in BSRTC buses across Bihar. This feature will be applied to ordinary, deluxe and volvo buses as well as pink buses.
Bihar News: On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Nitish government has given a big gift to women. Traveling in government buses for women on the day of Rakshabandhan will be free. She will be able to go to her maternal home to tie a rakhi to her brother without spending money. On August 9, all women will be able to travel free in BSRTC buses on any route of Bihar. This feature will be applicable in all categories of simple, deluxe and volvo.
Where will buses run from where
While issuing the order, Administrator of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation, Atul Kumar Verma said that the purpose of this decision is to respect the sacred relationship of brother and sister and facilitate women. With this, sisters will be able to reach their brothers easily and celebrate the festival happily. Women will also get free travel facility in the Pink Bus Service, which is specially operated in the capital Patna. These buses run between Gandhi Maidan and Gandhi Maidan from AIIMS. In view of the crowd, the corporation has also decided to run additional buses.

Bus driver and contector instructions to take precautions
Also, all bus drivers and conductors have been instructed to take special precautions during women’s visit and strictly follow the scheme. BSRTC has appealed to passengers to take full advantage of the scheme and make Rakshabandhan a safe, convenient and memorable experience.

Women will get free travel facility in Bihar on Rakshabandhan?
Women will get free travel facilities in all categories of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) in Buses, Deluxe and Volvo.
From which date will this facility be applicable?
The scheme will apply for a day on 9 August 2025 (day of Rakshabandhan).
Will this facility be available in Patna city too?
Yes, women will also get free travel facilities in Patna’s Pink Bus Service (eg Saguna Mor to Gandhi Maidan and AIIMS route).
Need to show a ticket or any identity card?
BSRTC will not specifically sought tickets, but women passengers will have to keep a valid identity card for identity verification.
Will buses be available on all routes?
Yes, buses will be run on all major routes of Bihar. Additional buses will also be run in view of the crowd.
What is the purpose of this scheme?
This scheme has been launched to honor the brother-sister relationship and to provide smooth travel facility to women on Rakshabandhan.
