Bihar News: On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Nitish government has given a big gift to women. Traveling in government buses for women on the day of Rakshabandhan will be free. She will be able to go to her maternal home to tie a rakhi to her brother without spending money. On August 9, all women will be able to travel free in BSRTC buses on any route of Bihar. This feature will be applicable in all categories of simple, deluxe and volvo.

While issuing the order, Administrator of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation, Atul Kumar Verma said that the purpose of this decision is to respect the sacred relationship of brother and sister and facilitate women. With this, sisters will be able to reach their brothers easily and celebrate the festival happily. Women will also get free travel facility in the Pink Bus Service, which is specially operated in the capital Patna. These buses run between Gandhi Maidan and Gandhi Maidan from AIIMS. In view of the crowd, the corporation has also decided to run additional buses.

Women will get free travel facilities in all categories of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) in Buses, Deluxe and Volvo.

The scheme will apply for a day on 9 August 2025 (day of Rakshabandhan).

Yes, women will also get free travel facilities in Patna’s Pink Bus Service (eg Saguna Mor to Gandhi Maidan and AIIMS route).

BSRTC will not specifically sought tickets, but women passengers will have to keep a valid identity card for identity verification.
