Nissan has unveiled its new compact electric vehicle, the Pixo, aimed at urban customers in Europe. The A-segment EV has been developed by Nissan Design Europe in collaboration with its partner Renault and will be manufactured at Renault’s plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Customer deliveries in Europe are expected to begin in early 2027. Compact Size with Distinctive Design The Nissan Pixo follows the company’s new EV design language and features a cube-inspired body, pixel-style lighting and a distinctive “robot face” front bumper. The car also gets “Pixo” badging along with a “2-3” marking, representing “Ni-San” in Japanese. The 18-inch alloy wheels feature pixel-inspired design elements, while the Nissan name is displayed across the rear tailgate. The Pixo will be offered in colours such as Wonder Purple and Gear Blue, complemented by black exterior trims. The car measures 3,796mm in length and 1,790mm in width. Nissan says its dimensions have been designed to suit European urban roads, while its turning circle stands at 9.9 metres. Four-Seat Cabin with Sliding Rear Seats The Pixo gets a relatively simple yet modern cabin with a vertically oriented dashboard, textured finishes and orange accents around the AC vents. Physical buttons and dials are provided for automatic climate control, while a large drive-selector stalk is positioned behind the steering wheel. The dashboard features a 7-inch digital driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The car can accommodate four adults, while the rear seats can slide forward and backward according to requirements, allowing occupants to balance passenger and luggage space. According to Nissan, the Pixo offers up to 356 litres of boot space, although 50 litres of this capacity is allocated for storing the charging cable. Google Gemini and ADAS Features The Nissan Pixo comes equipped with Google Gemini. According to the company, it is the first car in its segment to offer the feature, which will be available in 16 languages and dialects. Other technology features include Google built-in, the MyNissan app and Face ID. The Face ID system can identify individual drivers and remember their personalised settings. The Pixo will also offer an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and hands-free parking. 27.5kWh Battery Offers 259km Range The Nissan Pixo is equipped with a 27.5kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack. The battery powers an electric motor producing a maximum 82hp. Nissan has not yet revealed the car’s torque or detailed performance figures. The company claims that the Pixo can travel up to 259km on a single full charge according to the WLTP testing standard. 50kW DC Fast Charging For charging, the Pixo supports DC fast charging at up to 50kW. Nissan says the battery can be charged from 15 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 28 minutes. The EV also gets 11kW bidirectional AC charging capability. Nissan has not yet announced the price of the Pixo. Sales and customer deliveries in Europe are scheduled to begin in early 2027.
