NIRF India Rankings 2025: IISc Bengaluru tops universities category; JNU secures second place

New Delhi: The wait for NIRF Rankings 2025 is over. The Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 today, September 4. It has released the 10th edition of India Rankings for all categories. Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan has released the NIRF India Rankings 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

This year, the India Rankings 2025 was released for a total of nine categories: Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Innovation, State Public Universities, Open Universities, Skill Universities, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ministry has also released the rankings for eight subject domains. Let’s explore the top 10 universities in India.

The NIRF Rankings will be prepared based on the methodology that consists of parameters – Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.
