The Volkswagen Tayron Life variant has been introduced at a price of Rs 50.20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), making it more than Rs 6 lakh cheaper than the sportier R-line variant. It is offered in the following colour schemes: Dolphin Grey Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Oyster Silver Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Ultraviolet Metallic, Oryx White Mother-of-Pearl Effect and Grenadilla Black Metallic.

Looks are a major differentiator between the R-line and Life trim. The Life variants get a revised front bumper and rear bumper, along with 19-inch alloys (compared to the 20-inchers on the R-line). Volkswagen have toned down the sportiness with the Life variant. The last row of seats have also been eliminated, and its now purely a 5-seater. However, that’s the end of the changes with the Life variant.

Volkswagen hasn’t skimped out on the features, as it gets the same 15-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, Level-2 ADAS with 14 features, panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control, 12-way powered front seats with massaging and ventilation function, retractable sunblinds, electric tailgate, 8-speaker audio system, 9 airbags and much more.

Even though the performance remains the same, the 2.0-litre TSI engine is offered with the same engine tune. It produces 202bhp & 320Nm, and this power is sent to all 4 wheels via the 7-speed DSG gearbox and Volkswagen’s 4Motion technology. All in all, you are missing out on some sporty looks and larger alloys, but you save Rs 6 lakh up front.
