New TVS 450cc Single Cylinder Debut At EICMA – Under Norton

Since TVS Motor acquired the iconic British Norton Motorcycles brand, the company has devised a systematic revival strategy. The revival package consisted of huge capital influx and the first phase of revival strategy has worked out well with the global debut of four motorcycles – Manx, Manx R,

Now, TVS Motor is planning on expanding the lineup with an affordable (relatively) lineup based on a 450cc platform, internally called H-Series. These will be a single-cylinder range of motorcycles kicking things off with a Roadster bike, followed by other genres. First of these will be showcased at EICMA 2026 in Milan.

New TVS 450cc Single Cylinder Debut

Mass market vehicle strategy has emerged as the necessary lifeline of legacy automotive brands. For iconic British motorcycle brand, Norton, implementing this strategy is easier because of the industrial might of its parent Indian company, TVS Motor. Currently, Norton has just had a generational leap with next gen products showcased.

A new mass-market offering under Norton is expected to take shape and make Norton brand more accessible around the world. The company is coming up with a new 450cc single-cylinder motorcycle lineup with around 40-45 bhp and the first of these will make its global debut at 2026 EICMA in Milan.

These high-volume mass-market Norton bikes will be made in India, for domestic market and the world. Internally called H-Series, this new 450cc platform is likely to crash with Royal Enfield’s 450cc lineup as well and considering the GST norms here, there could emerge sub 350cc versions of these upcoming bikes, even though there is no word about it yet.

What to expect?

Norton’s new 450cc single-cylinder lineup is said to kick start with a Roadster and multiple genres are likely to follow it. One could speculate that a 450cc ADV version, a 450cc Scrambler version, a 450cc Cruiser version, a 450cc Bobber version and a 450cc Supersport version could follow.

Not a lot is known about these bikes or this new 450cc single-cylinder engine, but a recent report suggests it could be a liquid-cooled engine with around 40 – 45 bhp of peak power and 40 – 45 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Launch timeline is understood to be sometime in the second half of 2027.

Norton’s India debut will happen in Jan – March quarter of 2027, starting with Atlas range, followed by Manx range. H-Series bikes will launch later than that. The company has trademarked some names here, including Norton Electra, Norton Combat and recently, Rover, Inter and Avalon. One of these names might be used for Norton’s 450cc single-cylinder lineup.
