UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has announced changes in three major rules related to Aadhaar card from 1 November 2025. These changes will directly affect every common citizen, because now the way many services related to Aadhaar will change completely.
Online updating at home is now easier, but new fees will be imposed
Under the new rules, it will now be easier to update Aadhar card details online sitting at home. But along with this, UIDAI has also implemented new fees and revised process. Now you will be able to change information like your name, address, date of birth and mobile number online. There will be no need to go to the Aadhaar center for this, provided you do not have to update the biometric (fingerprint or iris).
UIDAI says that this process will be linked to other government databases like PAN, passport, ration card, birth certificate etc., which will reduce the need for uploading documents or lengthy verification process.
Benefit: Now people’s time, travel expenses and paperwork will be reduced. Just make sure that the mobile number and email are already linked to your Aadhaar.
PAN-Aadhaar link is mandatory, if not done then there will be loss
According to the new rules of UIDAI, every PAN holder will be required to link his PAN and Aadhaar by 31 December 2025. If this is not done, PAN will become inactive from January 1, 2026. Also, Aadhaar authentication has now been made mandatory for those who are making a new PAN.
Benefit: This step will control fake PAN cards and financial frauds. But if you do not link, transactions in your bank, demat, mutual fund and tax saving accounts may stop.
