Apart from this, a plan has also been agreed to send 500 high-skilled AI professionals from India to Japan by 2030, which has been welcomed by Foreign Minister Jaishankar.

Important discussions were also held on regional issues

During the meeting, the current situation in South Asia, Middle East and Africa was also discussed in detail. The two countries agreed to improve connectivity in Northeast India and surrounding regions, enhance cooperation through the Japan-India Act East Forum, and create a framework for policy dialogue on South Asia. Also, in view of the ongoing challenges at the global level, both the leaders also shared views on issues like global governance, cooperation in WTO and reform of the United Nations Security Council.

Special emphasis was also given to economic security and strengthening the supply chain. Both countries have decided to intensify cooperation in five major areas.

75th anniversary will be celebrated in 2027

India and Japan will celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2027. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that the special, strategic and global partnership between the two countries is continuously getting stronger. Even in the Indo-Pacific region, the thinking and cooperation of both the countries is very close to each other. Overall, it is clear that India and Japan are no longer limited to diplomacy only, but are also emerging as strong partners in technology, innovation, supply chain and global strategy.
