New Maruti Ertiga – Price, Engine And Features Revealed

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is India’s 7-seater of choice, and its sales record is a testament to it. But it has gotten quite outdated now, and its rivals, the Carens and Carens Clavis, offer much more value. Fortunately, Maruti will finally be making big changes to the Ertiga with a facelift. Here is what you should know about it.

Maruti Ertiga Facelift – What To Expect?

The Ertiga is an important model in Maruti’s lineup. It has been the best-selling 7-seater in India for quite some time now. It maintains its popularity among fleet buyers and families due to its practicality and affordable price. Nonetheless, an update is long overdue. The most significant update the Ertiga has received was Maruti making 6 airbags standard. Otherwise, the Ertiga has remained untouched since 2022.

With the facelift, Maruti will try to freshen the aesthetics. Some of the expected updates include tweaks to the grille, bumpers, headlights and taillights. Moreover, newer alloys and colour options are also expected. Bigger changes are expected on the inside.

Features & Powertrain

On the inside, it could get a larger infotainment screen, wireless charging and an electric sunroof. Moreover, with Maruti now offering a 360-degree camera on its smaller cars, the Ertiga could finally benefit from this feature as well. Such a feature list may not be as extensive as that of the Carens or Carens Clavis, but features have never been its strong point. Its primary USP is practicality, which could be getting a major boost with the facelift.

Reports suggest that Maruti is working on offering an underbody CNG option for the Ertiga. The Victoris, which shares the 1.5-litre engine with the Ertiga, offers underbody CNG, so it won’t require much effort to integrate this technology on the Ertiga. This move will be particularly appreciated by those planning to use the MPV as a taxi. The huge CNG tank will no longer hinder boot space.

Maruti Ertiga Facelift – Expected Pricing & Launch

At the moment, it costs between Rs 10.24 lakh and Rs 15.22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Since the pricing is what makes the Ertiga so popular, the price hike will be kept to a minimum. A subtle Rs 25,000-Rs 40,000 hike is expected over the current pricing.

We could see the Ertiga facelift on Indian roads by early to mid-2027. Since the Ertiga continues to sell in good numbers, Maruti won’t need to rush to launch the facelift.
