Mahindra has dropped the first official teaser of the BE 6 SPORTEQ, confirming one of the biggest updates expected for its born-electric SUV. Shared with the caption, “Teq got a Pulse. The new BE 6 SPORTEQ arrives on 15.08.2026,” the teaser reveals a full-width triple-screen dashboard, that Mahindra was preparing a significant technology update for the BE 6.
Triple-Screen Setup Teased
The biggest talking point is the addition of a 12.3-inch passenger display, transforming the existing dual-screen layout into a seamless three-screen dashboard. The current BE 6 already comes equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays for the driver and infotainment system. The new passenger display mirrors the setup already offered on Mahindra’s larger electric SUVs.
The update comes at a time when competition in the premium electric SUV space is heating up. Recently launched Tata Sierra EV also introduced a triple-screen layout, making the feature increasingly important in this segment. Apart from the additional display, in the teaser we can see the BE6 SporTEQ wearing matte black exterior shade. On the inside it is seen with brown shade, while there is red LED elements across – highlighting the Sport theme.
Powertrains Expected To Remain Unchanged
Mechanically, the updated BE 6 is expected to continue with the existing battery and motor options. The SUV is currently available with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. Variants equipped with the smaller battery generate 231 PS and 380 Nm, while the larger battery version develops 285 PS and 380 Nm.
Claimed MIDC range stands at 548 km for the 59 kWh variants and 683 km for the 79 kWh version. Features such as multi-level regenerative braking, single-pedal drive and multiple drive modes are also expected to be carried over unchanged.
Sales Effect
The timing of the update could also explain the . The electric SUV retailed just 541 units in July, significantly lower than its usual run rate, as Mahindra appears to be winding down production of the outgoing version ahead of the launch of the BE 6 SPORTEQ on 15th August. With the updated model bringing a triple-screen dashboard and additional feature enhancements, the BE 6 is expected to see a recovery in sales once deliveries of the new version begin.
Mahindra will launch the BE 6 SPORTEQ in full on 15th August, where the company is expected to detail all the changes and confirm pricing. The updated model will continue to rival the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and other premium electric SUVs in the segment.
