New Audi Q3 Sportback Unveiled

New Delhi: Audi has disclosed their Q3 Sportback model, as they introduce their third gen Q3 model in June, now Audi has unleashed their Q3 Sportback which has a coupe like body structure. This new car is virtually identical to the regular Q3 SUV in terms of technical setup, with the key difference being its sharply sloped rear windscreen. It features the same engine choices, including mild-hybrid petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid variants.

Audi Q3 Sportback exterior design

The Q3 Sportback differs from the standard Q3 mainly through its roofline, which is raked and sits 29mm lower. This change slightly alters the window design but does not reduce boot capacity, which remains at 488 litres. In terms of features, it uses the same split LED Matrix headlamps as the new Q3, with blacked-out sections on the fascia. The rear carries a split tail-lamp design with a connecting light bar. From the side or rear quarter view, the sloping roofline makes it distinguishable from the regular Q3. Its overall styling also shows similarities with larger Audi models such as the Q5 and A6 Avant.

Audi Q3 Sportback interior and Feature

From the inside, Audi uses the same curved panoramic display setup for Q3 Sportback as for the standard Q3, combining a 12.8-inch infotainment screen with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster. It also carries over the steering wheel control unit, which replaces conventional stalks and doubles as the drive selector.

Most physical controls are minimal, with climate functions accessible through the touchscreen. The relocation of the drive selector away from the centre console has created extra room, making space for two cupholders and a wireless charging pad.

Audi Q3 Sportback Powertrain

The Q3 Sportback offers the same engine options as the standard Q3. The lineup includes two petrol units, one diesel, and a plug-in hybrid. The entry point is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol producing 150hp and 250Nm. And a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol available in two outputs 204hp at 350Nm and 265hp at 400Nm  both paired with Audi Quattro all wheel drive.

On the diesel side, the car is equipped with a 2.0-litre engine delivering 150hp and 360Nm, offered with front-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid combines the 1.5-litre TFSI engine with an electric motor for a total output of 272hp and 400Nm. It uses a 25.7kWh battery, providing an electric-only driving range of up to 118km WLTP.
