UP PRISONERS EARLY Release: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath insisted on making the rules of premature release of serious ill, old and helpless prisoners simple and transparent. The policy will be made as per the directions of the Supreme Court, heinous criminals will not be released.

UP Illness Prisoners Release: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed to make the rules of premature release of serious sick and old prisoners in jails to make them more simple, clear and transparent. The Chief Minister says that the decision in these cases should be based on human sensibilities, so that the prisoners struggling with helpless and incurable can get relief.

New policy based on Supreme Court instructions

The Chief Minister said in a review meeting of prison administration and reform services on Monday that a transparent and human policy should be made in the state following the instructions of the Supreme Court. Under this, the release of eligible prisoners will be under consideration automatically and they will not have to apply separately.

The survey will be decided by the survey

The Chief Minister directed the officials to conduct a survey in all prisons, so that the actual number of prisoners suffering from old age, old age or disability can be detected. There should be a system to release women and the elderly on priority basis.

Which crimes are not released?

Yogi Adityanath clarified that premature release will not be done in murder, terrorism, treason and heinous crimes against women and children. He said that the security of the society is paramount and this policy should not be misused under any circumstances.

Self -review three times every year

The CM also directed that every year the eligible prisoners should be reviewed in the months of January, May and September. If a prisoner is not released, it should be recorded due to it and he gets the right to challenge the decision.

Judicial rights and rehabilitation plan to prisoners

In the meeting, officials informed that the system suggested by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is also being considered. Due to this, the prisoners will get the benefit of judicial rights smoothly. The Chief Minister also suggested that prisoners should be linked with works like agriculture, goseva so that the jail period can be used properly.
