Puja Tips: In Vedic scriptures and astrology, directions have been considered to have special importance for worship. In Hindu religion, it is believed that choosing the right direction during worship brings positive energy and receives blessings from God.
At the same time, worshiping in the wrong direction does not yield results and can have negative effects. Vedic texts such as Vastu Shastra, Agni Purana and Skanda Purana describe suitable and unsuitable directions for worship.
According to Vastu Shastra, each direction is related to some deity and energy. Worshiping in the right direction increases mental peace and flow of spiritual energy of a person. On the contrary, there are some directions which are considered prohibited for worship, because these directions are considered to be influenced by negative energy or inauspicious powers. Chapter 56 of Agni Purana and Vaastu Shastra clearly state that North-East means North-East and East and North directions are considered best for worship. south direction

Performing puja in this direction may cause health problems, financial loss, and tension in the family. If the puja room is in the south direction, then keep the face towards east or north while performing puja.
west direction
The lord of the west direction is Varun, who represents the water element. According to Vastu Shastra, it is inappropriate to worship facing west, because this direction is of sunset and darkness. According to Agni Purana, worshiping in the west direction stops the flow of positive energy. Performing puja in this direction may cause obstacles in work, lack of self-confidence and hindrance in spiritual progress. Always choose East or North-East direction for worship, as these directions are related to Sun and Ishaan deities.
south-west direction
The south-west direction is called Naitriya Kona in Vastu, which is considered to be related to demons and negative powers. According to Vastu Shastra, worshiping facing this direction reduces the effect of worship and increases the flow of negative energy. Performing puja in this direction may cause family unrest, financial loss, and health problems. Building a puja room in this direction is also prohibited. If the puja room is in this direction then face towards north-east during puja.
south-east direction
The south-east direction is called the fire angle. This direction is related to the fire element and the fire god. This direction is suitable for kitchen and energy work, but is not considered good for worship. According to Vastu Shastra, worshiping facing this direction can increase mental stress and anger. Performing puja in this direction may cause tension in relationships, unnecessary disputes, and obstructions in work.
Worship facing these directions
North-east direction or Ishaan Kon is related to Lord Vishnu and Shiva. Worshiping in this direction brings positive energy, prosperity and spiritual progress. At the same time, due to the east direction being of Sun God, this direction provides energy and inspiration. North being the direction of Kuber and Lakshmi, it is suitable for wealth and prosperity.
