New Delhi: Dipendra Singh Airee proved to be the star with an unbeaten half-century as Nepal notched up their first-ever victory in T20 World Cup history. In their final game of the 2026 edition, Nepal thrashed Scotland convincingly by 7 wickets to sign off from the marquee event on a high. This was their first victory in the four games they played.
Chasing a competitive score of 171, Airee’s 23-ball unbeaten 50 involving three massive sixes and four boundaries helped the side chase the total in 19.2 overs. Apart from his match-winning knock, Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh were helpful in the chase scoring 43 and 33 runs respectively while Gulsan Jha added quick 24 runs towards the end to help them complete a superlative chase.
For Scotland, Michael Leask was the lone bowler to impress with figures of 3 for 30 in his stipulated 4 overs while rest in the queue failed to claim wickets.
