Nepal is currently unrest, but one thing is interesting about it that this country never celebrates independence, while both neighboring countries of Nepal, India and China celebrate Independence Day. Let us now know the reason for this.
Why does Nepal celebrate independence?
Nepal is counted among the oldest countries in South Asia. There has been a monarchy rule here, but a big change has taken place in 2008 and it became a federal democratic republic. It is a good thing about Nepal surrounded by Asian countries that this country does not celebrate independence. This is because it has never been in the possession of any foreigner.
Countries like India and Sri Lanka ruled the British, so when they became independent, they started celebrating Independence Day. It is not that the British did not try to target Nepal. The British fought to capture here, which is called the Anglo-Nepali war. This war started on 1 November 1814 and lasted till 4 March 1816.
The British army was surprised to see the bravery of Gorkha soldiers and the mountainous warfare. Although the British Army had no less the number of modern weapons of that era, the British suffered heavy losses due to the hilly fortification and guerrilla style. Gurkhas even put their lives to stop the British. This was followed by the Sugauli treaty in 1816.
Sucked to maintain freedom
In the battle of the British Army and Gurkhas, some areas were lost in Nepal but managed to maintain independence in the country. After the treaty, Nepal handed over some parts to the British East India Company. Nepal was forced to allow the British Resident to be kept in his court (Darbar-e-Kathmandu). Nepal may suffer some regional losses, but the dream of capturing the British remained incomplete and Nepal remained a sovereign nation.

Police deployed to stop protesters.
Protesters entered into parliament
Demonstration in Nepal is becoming increasingly fierce. Thousands of Gen-Z youth performed in several cities including the capital Kathmandu. There was arson and sabotage. Hundreds of youth have entered the parliament. The police released tear gas shells to stop them. Water cannon run. 14 protesters have died in police firing.

What is the reason behind banning social media in Nepal, now they also know this. The Nepal government had decided that all major social media companies should register in the country. A time limit was also fixed for this. Even after the deadline passed, the companies did not complete the registration process. As a result, the government banned those social media. From then on, demonstrations started in the country.
