Neither flight, nor water was found for 6 hours .. The airline will now have to pay Rs 50,000 to passengers!

Consumer Forum of Delhi has fined Alliance Air Rs 50,000

If your flight fly late, now you can not just wait, justice can also be found. In fact, the same thing happened at Delhi Airport, where two passengers who arrived in time will now get a compensation of 50 thousand rupees in case of delay of hours, without AC and without any facility. This order has been given by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of South-West Delhi, which found Alliance Air guilty of lack of service.

Passengers hungry and thirsty for hours

The case is of 5 June 2022. Two women passengers named Manavati Devi and Shakuntala Devi reached the airport at 8 am to go to Gorakhpur from Delhi. The flight time was 11:30 pm, but the aircraft flew at 5:30 pm. Boarding was done by 10:45 am. At 1 pm, the aircraft was taken towards the runway, but after a while, he was brought back and parked again. Passengers were asked to take down from the aircraft. After that no information was given for four hours when the flight will be filled. Passengers allege that during this time neither air conditioning was going on nor water, nor any breakfast.

Airline refused compensation

After the incident, on June 6, the two women sent a written complaint to Alliance Air and mentioned mental troubles, derogatory behavior and poor service. The airline refused to give compensation on June 17, replying. After this, both of them knocked on the door of the Consumer Commission.

Airline will now have to pay compensation

A bench of Commission Chairman Suresh Kumar Gupta and member Harrshali Kaur found that the airline ignored basic passenger facilities. The order said that once boarding started, the aircraft should have been technically fully prepared. The delay was not due to the weather, nor was there any obstacle in air traffic clearance. In such a situation, there is a serious lack of service to the passengers, not giving food and water, and waiting for them for hours.

The Commission also said that passengers had to face mental stress, insult and inconvenience, which they should get compensation. Along with this, the Commission ordered that Alliance Air should give compensation of Rs 50,000 to both passengers – this includes the expenses of mental pain, harassment and litigation.
