Growing proximity in Bangladesh-Pak
The economic conditions of both Pakistan and Bangladesh are weak, meanwhile, there has been a sudden closeness in the relations of these countries. Recently he has signed on big agreements. These deals have been done in many important areas like trade, education, media, diplomacy, culture and government cooperation in Dhaka.
Both these countries are neighboring countries of India, in such a situation, the question arises that what is the matter for the growing close India in their relations. And is this step going to give a new twist to the politics of South Asia? Let’s know what agreements have been made between these countries and what effect it can be on India…
What are the agreements in Pakistan-Bangladesh?
After 13 years, a Pakistani Foreign Minister has visited Bangladesh, which is a big thing in itself. Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar signed these agreements with Bangladesh Foreign Advisor MD Tauheed Hussain. These agreements include ending visas on diplomatic passports, creating a joint work group on business, partnership between the Academies of the two countries and cooperation in the government news agencies of the two countries.
Along with this, agreements have also been reached about cultural exchange, strategic institutions. Also, Pakistan has also announced to give 500 scholarships for Bangladeshi students.
Close to India in Pakistan-Bangladesh
For India, all this is being seen as a diplomatic warning. The relations between Pakistan and India are not good at the moment and now it is strengthening relations with India’s close neighbor Bangladesh. It can directly challenge India’s ‘Neberhood First’ policy. This step of Pakistan is being considered as part of China’s ‘String of Pearls’ strategy, which aims to surround India from all sides.
Impact on business and strategy
The growing business relations of Bangladesh-Pakistan can also affect Bangladesh’s relations with India. If Bangladesh starts getting options like Pakistan for business, then India’s exporters will have to face a new challenge. At the same time, Pakistan’s schemes like ‘Knowledge Corridor’ and scholarship of Pakistan may have a trick to increase its soft power.
The special thing is that the economic situation of Pakistan and Bangladesh is especially weak, yet these countries are increasing mutual cooperation. Experts believe that this can be not just business but a political step.
