NEET PG 2025 Counselling: SC to Hear Transparency Plea Tomorrow

The Supreme Court of India is scheduled to hear a plea on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET PG 2025, tomorrow, on September 23. The hearing was earlier postponed on September 12. The petitioners have claimed that the new disclosure mechanism of answer keys is ‘opaque, unintelligible, and incapable of meaningful verification.’

The Supreme Court had directed the NBEMS to release NEET PG raw scores and the answer key, as well as details of the normalization method for transparency. However, the candidates allege only the answer key with question IDs was shared, without actual questions. It made it impossible for candidates to cross-check responses or spot evaluation errors. As mentioned above, the hearing scheduled for September 12 was postponed, which resulted in a delay in the commencement of the counselling process at the national level.

The petition reads, “It frustrates the very object of publishing answer keys and responses, which is to enable candidates to cross-check their answers, raise objections against discrepancies, and ensure transparency in evaluation of a high-stakes national examination.”
