The beginning of October is going to be hectic for filmgoers, with nearly ten Telugu films arriving in theatres for the Gandhi Jayanthi weekend.
While the crowded release slate offers audiences plenty of options, it remains to be seen how many of these films will draw significant footfalls.
Among the straight Telugu releases is Fahadh Faasil starrer “Don’t Trouble The Trouble”. The film has received good attention ahead of its release, with SS Rajamouli and NTR attending its pre-release event. The movie is produced jointly by Rajamouli’s family and the producers of “Baahubali”.
“Court” fame Harsh Roshan’s “Thella Kaagitham” is another notable straight Telugu release.
Vikram Sahidev, son of producer Lagadapati Sridhar, is making his debut as a lead actor with “Anakapalli”. The film has already been screened for audiences through special previews.
Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah starrer “Sigma” is being released as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. The film has also attracted attention because it marks the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil star Vijay.
Besides these films, “Tatvam”, “Premane Oorilo” and “SI Yugandhar” are also releasing on October 2. Keerthy Suresh starrer dubbed film “Dorothy” is also arriving in theatres during the same weekend.
With so many films competing for screens and audience attention, the Gandhi Jayanthi weekend is set to be a crowded one at the Telugu box office.
