Chennai: The team behind Nayanthara’s upcoming devotional thriller, ‘Mookuthi Amman 2 – Mahasakthi’, has extended its gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.
Joseph Vijay. This comes after the state government’s decision to allow theatres to screen up to six shows a day, with the first show starting as early as 6 AM.
Vels Film International, the production house, stated, “We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru C. Joseph Vijay sir and the Honourable Minister Thiru Rajmohan sir for permitting theatres to screen up to six shows a day and allowing the first show to commence as early as 6:00 AM.”
They lauded the decision as a “significant encouragement to the Tamil film industry” and a “wonderful gesture towards cinema lovers.” The production house believes this initiative will greatly help ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ reach a wider audience across Tamil Nadu, enabling more people to experience the film on the big screen. This move is seen as a boost for Tamil cinema, providing greater opportunities for new releases.
The Tamil Nadu government had recently announced that newly released Tamil films could have up to six screenings daily for a week from their release date, from 6 AM to 2:30 AM the following day. This decision followed pleas from various film industry bodies, including the Tamil Film Active Producers Association and the Tamil Film Producers Council.
