Nayanthara surprised everyone by attending the Bengaluru promotional event of “Toxic.” More surprisingly, she spoke about the film for nearly 20 minutes, marking one of the longest speeches she has delivered at a film event in her career.
Nayanthara revealed that she attended the event because of Yash, who invested heavily in the film and spent nearly four years on the project with strong belief in the story. She plays Yash’s sister in the gangster drama, which is set in Goa in the 1960s.
Nayanthara has largely stayed away from film promotions throughout her career, with only a handful of exceptions, including events for films such as “Sri Rama Rajyam” in Telugu. Even for her recent Telugu release “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu,” she did not participate in interviews or attend the pre-release event.
The actress is currently busy shooting for Salman Khan’s upcoming Hindi film, which is being directed by Vamshi Paidipally.
Interestingly, Yash is now said to be keen on bringing Nayanthara on board for promotional interviews for “Toxic.” Given her long-standing reluctance to participate in interviews and promotional activities, it remains to be seen whether she will agree to promote the film through interviews as well.
Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash in the lead, is scheduled to release on August 26.
