9th day of navratri katha: Today i.e. October 1 is the ninth day of Sharadiya Navratri, which is also known as Navami or Mahanavami. This date is considered to be of special importance in Navratri, because on this day people organize a girl’s worship and the fast of Navratri is considered incomplete without a girl worship. Mother Siddhidatri is worshiped on the 9th day of Navratri i.e. Ashtami. Siddhidatri Mata is the ninth form of Goddess Durga, who has been called the goddess who has provided all kinds of siddhis. Story of Navratri Navami
Religious belief is that when all the gods reached Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, troubled by the atrocities of the Asuras, then the briskness of the three gods originated a divine power, which was known as Mata Siddhidatri. According to the legend, Lord Shiva also did the harsh penance of mother Siddhidatri and by his grace, he received all kinds of siddhis.
It is believed that by the grace of Mother Siddhidatri, half the body of Lord Shiva became the goddess and she was called ‘Ardhanarishwar’. Mother Siddhidatri is called the giver of Siddhis. Mata Siddhidatri provides eight types of siddhis to her devotees such as ‘Anima, Glory, Garima, Laghima, Achievement, Pramund, God and Vashitva’. On the ninth day (Mahanavami) on the ninth day of Navratri, the worship of Mata Siddhidatri gets full results of Navratri fast.

Mata Siddhidatri is of four arms, she is occupied on lotus flower and her vehicle is lion. Religious belief is that by worshiping Maa Siddhidatri, devotees fulfill cosmic and parlokik wishes and people can attain salvation by staying uninterrupted from the world. By worshiping them, devotees get the courage to win the universe and they get salvation free from worldly sufferings.
