How to establish Kalash?
On the first day of Navratri, after taking bath in the morning, prepare for worship at a clean and holy place. First of all, clean the place of worship and spread a red or yellow cloth there. Put soil in an earthen vessel and sow barley in it. Place a kalash filled with water on top of it and add Ganga water in it. Place mango leaves in the vase and place coconut on top. Wrap the coconut with red cloth or chunri. After this, while meditating on Goddess Durga, worship the Kalash and light a lamp.
Importance of establishing Kalash
According to religious beliefs, installing Kalash during Navratri brings happiness, prosperity and peace in the house. Also, with the grace of Mother Durga, the problems in life start going away.
