Girls are worshiped on the eighth and ninth of Navratri on the eighth and ninth day. Small girls are washed away as a goddess, their feet are washed, they are placed on the posture, tilak and holy thread is tied. They are fed pudding, puri and chickpeas and gifts.
Kanya pujan during navratri: The holy time of Navratri is the most auspicious occasion to experience devotion and power of Goddess Durga. This festival is considered incomplete without Virgo worship. On the day of Ashtami and Navami, Goddess Durga comes to every house as small girls. The real meaning of Virgo Pujan is to see the form of Goddess in small girls, respect them and experience the grace of the mother in their smile. On this day, their feet are washed and placed on the seat, tilak is applied on their foreheads and a holy thread is tied on their hands, and then they are lovingly fed pudding, potatoes and gram. When we take blessings by touching their feet, they bless us as mother girls themselves.

- Both of these days offer auspicious opportunities to please Goddess Durga.
A simple method of Virgo Pujan
- Clean the house, prepare the place of worship and install the idol of Goddess Durga. Worship and offer offerings.
- After worship, invite girls, wash their feet and sit on the seat.
- Apply tilak them and tie kalava on their hands.
- Serve offering pudding, potato-puri and gram.
- After meals, give them gifts and Dakshina.
- Finally, touch their feet and seek their blessings.
