The inauguration of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) was completely different from the traditional events this time. Instead of the glamor of the stage, speeches and special guests, the center of this historic day was the common people, the workers who built it, the first passengers, the soldiers of the country and famous personalities from the world of sports. The inauguration felt more like a shared celebration than a show of strength.

The inaugural event began with a unique drone show, which was dedicated to the thousands of workers whose tireless hard work made this dream come true. The figures rising into the sky were more an expression of true gratitude than any grand show. From here it became clear that this inauguration is based on respect and compassion rather than show off.
Inauguration took place in a simple manner
The scene inside the airport was also different from the usual openings. Neither any particular line, nor any distance. Employees, ex-servicemen, Param Vir Chakra winners, guests and common people were all seen standing together. Stars from the sports world were also present among the people instead of on the stage, as if this day was not about identity but about participation. The most emotional moment came when all the people present together sang the national anthem. This was not part of any set script, but a moment of natural and shared emotion. Even in the welcome of the passengers arriving on the first flights, there was familiarity rather than formality. Shower of flowers, tilak, aarti, rose water and smile, a glimpse of Atithi Devo Bhava was visible at every step. Gautam Adani himself was present at the terminal with his family and stood with the ground staff and welcomed the passengers. Many passengers were surprised to see that the top leadership of the airport himself was talking to them and getting their photographs clicked.
