Mandi Landslide Himachal: Three people were killed in a landslide in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, while two were rescued. Flood havoc, buses and vehicles were washed away in Dharampur. The administration intensified relief-rescue operations, so far 404 people killed.
The continuous rains in Himachal Pradesh have once again brought heavy destruction. In the Nihra area of Mandi district, the debris, who fell from the hill late at night, caught a house. Three people died in this accident, while two people were safely taken out.
House collapsed in Nihri, three killed
According to the information, after the heavy rains on Monday night, a part of the hill suddenly broke down and fell to a house in the Nihari area. Three of the five people buried in the debris were killed, while two were rescued. Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma said that relief and rescue work is going on.
Flood havoc in Dharampur
Dharampur town of Mandi district was the most affected due to heavy rains. The Son Khad River suddenly came on the rise and flood water entered the bus station at midnight. Many government buses were drowned in water, while dozens of private vehicles including car, bikes and scooters were swept away.

150 students stranded in hostel, reaching upper floors
Flood water entered homes and shops. When the situation deteriorated, people were forced to save their lives by climbing on the roofs. About 150 students were trapped in a hostel in Dharampur, who were shifted to the upper floors. An overnight relief and rescue operations were carried out under the leadership of DSP Sanjeev Sood.
According to the Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), 404 people have died in this monsoon season since June 20. Of these, 229 deaths occurred in rain -related incidents, while 175 people have lost their lives in road accidents. If you look at the district -wise, 37 people have died in Mandi, 34 in Kangra, 31 in Kullu, 28 in Chamba and 23 in Shimla.
At present, the water level of Son Khad is decreasing, but the administration and police are keeping an eye on the situation. Damage is being assessed in the affected areas and relief work has been intensified.
