History of Nutritionist Week
The National Nutrition Day was started in March 1975 by the American Diatatics Association (ADA). Currently it is also known as Nutrition and Dietatics Academy. Nutritionist Week in India was launched in 1982 by the Food and Nutrition Board. The main objective of which was to deal with the problem of malnutrition and make people aware of the importance of balance diet, nutrition and healthy lifestyle. Since then it started celebrating Nutritionist Week from 1 to 7 September.

Every year Nutritionist Week is celebrated with a separate theme. This year’s theme “It is right for better life”, that is, eat right for a better life.
