New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt slammed a brilliant knock of an unbeaten 65 in her side’s clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 on Tuesday, January 20. Sciver-Brunt’s half-century helped MI post a challenging total of 154/5 against DC in 20 overs.
The England all-rounder’s 65 off 45 balls was laced with six fours and two sixes as she equalled UP Warriorz skipper Meg Lanning’s record for most fifties in the WPL. It was Sciver-Brunt’s third half-century of the season and eleventh overall in her WPL career as she joined Lanning at the top spot in the elite list of players with most half-centuries in the tournament’s history.
Lanning, who has scored two half-centuries in the WPL 2026 so far, sits at the top with 11 fifties in 32 matches in the tournament. Sciver-Brunt, who is the leading run-getter in the WPL with 1246 runs to her name, has 11 fifties in 34 matches. The duo is followed by MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who has ten half-centuries under her belt in 33 matches in the WPL.
Players with most half-centuries in the WPL:
Nat Sciver-Brunt – 11*
Meg Lanning – 11
Harmanpreet Kaur – 10
Ellyse Perry – 8
Sciver-Brunt, who has been one of Mumbai Indian’s most reliable all-rounders, once again turned to be their saviour with their bat after their poor start against DC on Tuesday. Asked to bat first, MI lost their openers S Sajana (9) and Hayley Matthews (12) cheaply to be left in a spot of bother at 2/21.
Sciver-Brunt then combined with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur to steady the ship for MI and bring their innings back on track. The England all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 65, while Harmanpreet scored a valuable 41 off 33 balls to add a 78-run stand for the third wicket. Sciver-Brunt stayed in the middle till the last ball to help MI cross the 150-run mark with her splendid knock.
