New Delhi: While there were reports of Ishan Kishan replacing the injured Rishabh Pant for the remainder of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy but now it’s being learnt that Tamil Nadu batter Narayan Jagadeesan is in fray for the same, mentions a report in Cricbuzz. This comes after Pant suffered an injury on the opening day of the Manchester Test and was carried off the field for scans.
Pant, who suffered an injury on his toe on the first day of the fourth Test match and was ruled out of the remainder of the series, surprisingly returned to bat on the second day after BCCI’s another statement said that the left-hander would bat for the side and not keep the wickets. Dhruv Jurel has been assigned the role of the wicket-keeper for the must-win game for India.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Jagadeesan is expected to be added to the squad ahead of the fifth and final Test match and the announcement regarding the same would be made soon.
