Narak Chaturdashi 2025 Remedy: The second festival in the five-day festival of Diwali is celebrated as Narak Chaturdashi. This festival falls on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This festival is also known as ‘Chhoti Diwali’ or ‘Rup Chaudas’. Yamraj, the god of death, is especially worshiped on this day. By worshiping Yamraj on this day, the fear of untimely death goes away. According to the Vedic calendar, this year Narak Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 19 October.
It is told in Hindu religious scriptures that on this day Lord Shri Krishna killed Narakasura. Along with the worship of Yamraj, some special measures are also taken on this day. It is believed that by taking some special measures on this day, a person becomes free from the fear of going to hell. Remedies for Narak Chaturdashi (Narak Chaturdashi 2025 Upay)
On the day of Narak Chaturdashi, an earthen four-sided lamp should be taken in the evening or at night. Then mustard oil should be added to it. After this, lights should be placed in the lamp facing all four directions. The lamp should be lit at night when all the members of the house are going to sleep after having dinner. The lamp should be placed outside the house near the main entrance. The lamp should face south direction.
Only the eldest member of the house should light this Yama lamp. While lighting the lamp, one should chant the mantra “Mrityuna Paashdandabhyan Kalen Cha Maya Saha Ya Trayodshyam Deepdanat Suryajah Priyatamiti” with folded hands. Then after placing the lamp, one should not look back at it. Not only this, even the family members are prohibited from seeing this lamp.
