Ramayana, produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is all set for a November 5, 2026 release. Before that, another film based on the same epic was supposed to arrive in theatres but didn’t. It is Valmiki Ramayana, directed by Bhavna Talwar, who is known for Dharm (2007).
The film was announced in March 2026 during Sri Rama Navami, and the makers later announced that Ilaiyaraaja had come on board as the composer. Since then, there has been no update, even though October 2, 2026 was announced as the release date.
October 2 has passed, but the makers have remained silent about the film. What happened to it, and how much of the shooting has been completed, remain unknown.
Talents such as Sabu Cyril, Binod Pradhan and Resul Pookutty joined the project to deliver an immersive cinematic experience. We now have to wait and see if anyone from the team will speak about what is actually happening with the movie.
