Nag’s All-Time Classic Geethanjali Set For Re-Release

Some classics are remembered for their stories, some for their performances, and a rare few for the emotions they leave behind.

Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Geethanjali belongs firmly to the latter category. The all-time classic, directed by Mani Ratnam, is now set to return to theatres in a spectacular 4K format, giving a new generation an opportunity to experience its magic on the big screen once again.

The film is scheduled for a worldwide re-release in Telugu and Tamil on August 28th, coinciding with the special occasion of Nagarjuna’s birthday.

The re-release is being brought by Boorle Shiva Prasad of Shree Padmini Cinemas, with the movie being presented in the latest technological format.

Originally celebrated for its deeply emotional storytelling, memorable music, breathtaking visuals and the chemistry between its lead pair, Geethanjali holds a special place in the history of Telugu cinema.

Mani Ratnam’s distinctive filmmaking transformed the film into an enduring romantic classic, while Nagarjuna delivered one of the most memorable performances of his career, with Girija Shettar playing the female lead, and Ilayaraja providing a memorable music.

After all these years, the magic of Geethanjali is ready to bloom once again on the silver screen.
