N Ramachander Rao set to be Telangana BJP president

Former Telangana MLC Naraparaju Ramachander Rao will be the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, tv9 telugu reported.

The term of the current state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy is ending in July. The names of many party leaders were in the race including BJP MPs Eatala Rajender, K Lakshman, Dharmapuri Arvind.

The party high command has ordered him to file his nomination, reports said. Ramachander Rao will file his nomination at 2 pm.

It is learnt that some senior leaders along with the RSS have strongly proposed his name to confront the ruling Congress, strengthen the party. Local body elections and other factors have been taken into consideration in the selection of the new president.
