Goldberg is gearing up for his retirement WWE match and he is reportedly on his way back to WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer could make his surprise WWE return on this week’s Monday Night Raw.
He is all but set to face Gunther in his last WWE match at the Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.
Ahead of his rumoured WWE Raw return, Goldberg shared a post for his son, Gage, on Instagram. He shared a video of his son enjoying his WWE run in the crowd. Goldberg had a one-year stint with WWE in 2003/04.
Goldberg got married in 2005. 11 years after his marriage, he made his WWE return. His wife and son were mostly present during his appearances. “My driving force on this and every Father’s Day,” Goldberg captioned his Instagram video.
Golbderg’s son and wife were also present during his previous WWE appearance at Bad Blood 2024. Gunther teased Goldberg at the premium live event. He crossed the line during the segment, forcing the former Universal Champion to jump the barricade.
WWE teased a future match between them and it is set to take place soon. Gunther, who lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso at Wrestlemania 41, reclaimed it on the previous week’s Raw. The match between Gunther and Goldberg will involve the top prize in WWE.
The match against Gunther will be Goldberg’s first since 2022. The former Universal Champion last faced Roman Reigns in a one-on-one match at the Elimination Chamber. Reigns defeated the WWE legend to retain the Universal Championship.
The dream match between them was originally scheduled to take place at Wrestlemania 36 in 2020. Goldberg defended his title against Braun Strowman after Reigns pulled. 2 years later, WWE finally booked the dream match between them. Reigns is presently on a break from WWE.
