Suspended Trinamool MLA from Murshidabad Humayun Kabir vowed to stop Mamata Banerjee from coming to power again. Will form a new party on December 22 and form an alliance with AIMIM. BJP has opposed him regarding the construction of Babri Masjid.
Humayun Kabir on Mamta Banerjee: Humayun Kabir, the suspended MLA from Trinamool Congress, who talked about building Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal, has vowed that he will not allow Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to come to power for the fourth time next year. Threatening Banerjee in a filmy style, he said, “Trinamool’s Muslim vote bank will soon be destroyed, the picture is still pending.”
Humayun Kabir will announce his new party on 22 December
A day after laying the foundation stone of the proposed ‘Babri Masjid’ in Beldanga, Humayun Kabir said he will form his own party on December 22 and try to forge an alliance with Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM. He also talked about fielding his candidates on 135 out of 294 seats in the Bengal Assembly elections next year. Humayun claimed that the move would make him a “gamechanger” in Bengal politics.
Owaisi claims to contest elections with AIMIM
Humayun Kabir further said, “I will form a new party, which will work for Muslims. I will field candidates on 135 seats. I am in touch with AIMIM and will contest the elections with them. I have spoken to Owaisi. However, both AIMIM and Owaisi have not yet commented on this.
Trinamool will not be able to form its next government- Humayun Kabir
Humayun Kabir said, I will not let BJP come to power in Bengal. Also, Trinamool will not be able to form its next government. Muslims in India have a lot of money and will help build Babri Masjid. Many industries across India are going to help me. Let us tell you that Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress had suspended Kabir saying that her party believes in “secular principles”. At the same time, BJP had described his efforts to build the mosque as a ploy to create communal tension.
Huge crowd gathered in Bengal for Babri
On Saturday, a huge crowd of Muslims gathered at Humayun Kabir’s foundation program for ‘Babri Masjid’. He claimed that even without the support of the police, 8 lakh people participated yesterday. This led to the blockage of National Highway-12 as hundreds of villagers from Murshidabad and Malda districts joined in donating for the mosque. Trucks and tractors loaded with bricks had come from North Dinajpur and Canning in South 24-Parganas.
BJP criticized Humayun Kabir
Bengal BJP chief Samik Bhattacharya called the mosque controversy a well-planned agenda of Trinamool. He claimed that Kabir’s suspension is just a show and TMC is standing with Babar. At the same time, Union Minister Sukant Majumdar said that ‘Babri Masjid’ will never be accepted in Bengal. We are not opposing the construction of the mosque, but building a mosque in the name of Babar seems to be an insult to Hindus and an attempt to provoke them. The Hindu community will give a befitting reply to this.
