EV Charging Stations in UP CITES: Municipalities of UP district headquarters will now be smart and developed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed to develop modern facilities like Gaurav Path, Smart Classroom, Digital Services and EV charging stations.
Smart Municipalities in uttar pradesh: Preparations have now started to make the municipalities of the district headquarters of Uttar Pradesh modern and citizen-centered. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed in the review meeting of the Urban Development Department that all municipalities should be molded in smart and developed form. Facilities like Gaurav Path, Smart Classroom, EV Charging Station and Digital Services will be included.
Why is this initiative important? (Smart Municipalities in District Headquarters)
The Chief Minister said that the development of municipalities of district headquarters should not be limited only to infrastructure improvement. It aims to provide quality, transparent and modern services to citizens. Security and monitoring will also be strengthened by connecting small municipalities with large municipalities through the hub-end-spoke model.

What facilities will be available? (Urban Facilites in Smart Municipalities)
- Gaurav Path, Pink Toilet, Urban Facilitation Center
- Smart Classroom, Anganwadi, Theme Based Park
- Historical heritage protection, reservoir revival
- EV Charging Station, Green Crametorium
- Digital services and ‘One District One Product’ based structure
- Community Center and Festival Building to Empower the local economy
Electric Buses & Smart Monitoring
- 200 electric buses will be operated soon on the Lucknow-Kanpur route, 650 buses will be purchased in other cities.
- Charging infrastructure for electric buses will also be developed.
- The hub-end-spoke model will bring modernity in monitoring and security of municipalities.
Financial & Administrative Reforms
The Chief Minister directed to increase the financial approval limit of the municipal corporations. This limit will be increased after about 20 years. Along with this, emphasis was also laid on campaigning to resolve taxes and civic grievances and organize a solution camp.
Sports and International Level Facilities (Sports Infrastructure in Lucknow)
The International Shooting Range and multi -purpose sports complex will be set up in Lucknow. This will provide recognition to the sports talents of the state on the international stage and create employment opportunities at the local level. Instructions have been given to the Urban Development Department that work should be started as soon as possible on the Smart Municipality Project. Projects in all district headquarters will be selected on the basis of local requirements.
