The defence panel, including Advocate Jaywant Patil, Advocate Surendra Landge, Advocate Azad Gupta, and Advocate Amit Mishra opposed police custody and sought judicial custody instead, arguing that Suvarna was not a habitual offender and had no previous criminal record.
